DJ Karaï, also known as Guilherme Alves, embodies the explosive encounter between traditional percussion and the art of modern mixing.

Before making turntables vibrate, it was behind the percussion that Guilherme built his reputation. Born in the heart of Brazil, in Minas Gerais, he grew up lulled by the captivating rhythms of his native country and took to the stage from a very young age. At 20, he flew to Paris and became a student of the legendary percussion master Giovanni Hidalgo.

A complete artist and globetrotter of groove, Guilherme Alves has collaborated with the biggest names on the international scene: Sting, Aya Nakamura, SCH, Gipsy King by Andre Reys, Will.I.Am, Rilès, Christophe Maé, Vianney, Mokhtar Samba, Salif Keita, Jain… From prestigious venues to iconic festivals, from TV sets to recording studios, he imposes his unique rhythmic signature wherever he goes.

Today, with this rich stage and musical experience, Guilherme Alves naturally evolves his art and becomes DJ Karaï. Behind the turntables, he doesn’t just mix sounds: he infuses each of his sets with the raw energy of his percussion, creating a vibrant and organic sonic journey.

His signature? An irresistible blend of electro beats, Afro-Latin and Brazilian grooves (baile funk, bossa nova, samba…) and live percussion, for an experience that’s as danceable as it is unforgettable.
