DJ Karaï, also known as Guilherme Alves, embodies the explosive fusion of traditional percussion and the art of modern mixing.

Before hitting the decks, Guilherme built his reputation behind the percussion instruments. Born in the heart of Brazil, in Minas Gerais, he grew up immersed in the captivating rhythms of his homeland and took to the stage from a very young age. At 20, he moved to Paris and became a student of the legendary percussion master Giovanni Hidalgo.

A versatile artist and groove globetrotter, Guilherme Alves has collaborated extensively with the biggest names in the international music scene: Sting, Aya Nakamura, SCH, Gipsy King by Andre Reys, Will.I.Am, Rilès, Christophe Maé, Vianney, Mokhtar Samba, Salif Keita, Jain… From prestigious venues to iconic festivals, from TV sets to recording studios, he leaves his unique rhythmic signature wherever he goes.

Today, drawing on this rich stage and musical experience, Guilherme Alves naturally evolves his art and becomes DJ Karaï. Behind the decks, he doesn’t just mix sounds: he infuses each of his sets with the raw energy of his percussion, creating a vibrant and organic sonic journey.
